Covid-secure weddings are now available to book!

We are delighted that we can now start offering bookings for last-minute summer weddings as well as advanced bookings for winter weddings.

Until late June, only up to 30 people can attend weddings but this restriction doesn’t mean you can’t have your dream day. Our venue and adjoining event spaces can be catered to weddings with any number of guests.

There are still a number of last-minute summer wedding bookings available. We are also offering a mid-week discount and are delighted to confirm that our venue is fully COVID-secure. We are experiencing very high levels of interest, so book now to avoid disappointment!

We have achieved the AIM Secure Site and Visit England Good to Go accreditations. These industry standards provide reassurance and confidence to conference and event organisers. AIM secure in particular measures:

A venue with historical beauty and a modern charm.

As well as being a venue for ceremonies, Murray Edwards College is the perfect place for wedding breakfasts and receptions. The college is one of the more contemporary Cambridge Colleges, dating from 1954.

The College buildings were designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bonn who also designed The Barbican in London and offer a modern backdrop with clean lines and exposed brick. The informal gardens soften the brutalist architecture with beautiful borders and well-kept lawns and unlike many Colleges, guests are welcome to walk on our grass.

A stunning space that will make your guests say “wow”.

The fabulous Dome can seat up to 270 guests for dinner, making it one of the highest capacity Cambridge wedding venues.

For up to 140 cabaret style or 210 banquet style, this room can include a dance floor, band/DJ and bar. Lighting and other equipment can be hired to make the space even more spectacular or to go with a particular theme.

Should you wish to include other entertainment such as a photo booth, this is fine. We politely request that you discuss any ideas in advance so we can ensure there is space for your event to run smoothly.

Drink and canapé receptions can be served in Fountain Court Walkway, with beautiful views over the illuminated fountains at night-time and of attractive Orchard Court. Alternatively, the College bar overlooking Fountain Court provides a more contemporary space with modern furniture and drawings by Quentin Blake.

Also known as Fellows’ Drawing and Dining Rooms (FDR).

This suite is ideal for intimate wedding parties of up to 70 guests. The recently refurbished Drawing Room centres around artwork from the New Hall Art Collection and a large rug which brings colour and vibrancy to the space.

The adjoining Dining Room features the College’s signature exposed, light brickwork. The room is warmed through the use of dark woods and chairs upholstered in green leather, bringing an elegant, formal atmosphere. The walls feature interesting framed photography which offers a unique talking point.

Accessible from both rooms, the private Fellows’ Garden features a beautiful lawn, floral boarders and pond. Occasional tables and chairs are laid out on the terrace and benches and additional seating is spaced around the garden. A stock of picnic blankets is available to borrow. Al fresco catering can be planned in the garden, with you secure in the knowledge that the rest of the suite acts as wet weather back up.
