Dining Rooms

What atmosphere are you looking to create for your dining event?

From smaller, intimate rooms such as the Council Room, to the light-filled Long Room, to the grand Fellows’ Dining Room, to the cavernous, spectacular Dome – Murray Edwards College has a dining room for every occasion and each one can be set up with AV equipment for presentations and speeches.

Our kitchens are led by Joe Dean who was previously Head Chef at Hotel du Vin. Joe has created stunning new seasonal menus for both fine dining and conference catering. Teri Byrne heads up our Front of House team and her past role as Catering Manager at Newmarket Race Course has given her plenty of experience managing stress-free dining experiences.

Our experienced team will help you plan and enjoy a memorable occasion, whether it is a conference dinner, anniversary celebration, dinner dance, or charity function. Please see our menus page for more detail on the options available.

We are proud to receive consistently excellent client feedback for our food and drink.

The Dome Dining Hall

Cambridge College Dinner

A stunning space that will make your guests say “wow”.

One of the largest dining rooms in Cambridge, this room can be set up in banquet or cabaret style and can include a dance floor and bar, depending on your numbers. Lighting and other equipment can be hired to make the space even more spectacular or to go with a particular theme.

Artwork from the New Hall Art Collection adorns the walls of the space and includes work by Turner Prize Winner 2017, Lubaina Himid.

Drink and canapé receptions can be served in Fountain Court Walkway, with beautiful views over the illuminated fountains at night-time and of attractive Orchard Court. Alternatively, the College bar overlooking Fountain Court provides a more contemporary space with modern furniture and drawings by Quentin Blake.

The Fellows’ Suite

Cambridge College Dinner

Also known as Fellows’ Drawing and Dining Rooms (FDR).

An all-inclusive space, perfect for intimate dinners for 30 or larger celebrations for up to 70 guests.

The adjoining drawing room is an attractive space for drinks receptions or, in the summer months, these can be taken outside in the Fellows Garden. The garden is an informal landscape filled with wildflowers and featuring a pond and you might spot a squirrel or two bounding between the trees.
