Flow Traders Holds Evening Recruitment Event

Background

Flow Traders is a leading global technology-enabled liquidity provider, specialising in Exchange Traded Products, across Europe, the Americas and Asia. Founded in 2004, the company has grown and continued to cultivate the entrepreneurial, innovative and team-orientated culture embedded from the start.

Regular recruitment events are held to attract traders to join the team. These are often held in university locations and comprise presentations on what it is like to be a trader, as well as a trading challenge to put students’ mathematical and analytical skills to the test, with a prize awarded for the winner.

In October 2019, a Flow Traders’ Trading Challenge was held for the first time at Murray Edwards College.

Event

Barbara Franken, Recruiter at Flow Traders, who organised the event in Cambridge says: “Our recruitment events are of a similar format and include a presentation from a trader taking the form of a ‘day in the life’, followed by the opportunity to talk to representatives from the company and concluding with a Trading Challenge.

“Our criteria in choosing a venue is always accommodation, catering and location. At Murray Edwards we used the Kaetsu Conference Centre for our early evening event, from 6.00-8.00pm, with presentations in the Conference Room and the finger buffet in the Foyer.

Feedback

“Overall the event worked well. The accommodation and catering were of a high standard. Being located just out of the city centre was perhaps not ideal for some of the students, although the event did attract 30 to come along.

“Everything went to plan and the food arrived on time. It was great!”
